(1909 - 1988)
Milda Birite painted colourful still-lifes, portraits, flowers and marines. Artist worked in oil technique and followed priniples of the Latvian painting school.
Milda Bīrīte was born on January 23, 1909 in Valka. She studied economics and worked in Leningrad. In 1949 Birite graduated the Art Academy of Latvia with diploma work – “Library of Art Academy”. She worked at combine "Maksla" (Art), as teacher in Riga, and also did design works.
Milda Birite was a member of the Latvian SSR Artists’ Union since 1959. She participated ir exhibitions since 1949. Her memorial exhibitions were held in Madona (1988) and Valka (1989). She participated in exhibitions of Madona’s artists, at republican and all-Union art exhibitions.
